God's Promises - Immigration

Ephesians 2:19-22 (New International Version)

19Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household, 20built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

Yesterday, I talked about the Bill of Rights and what I have as a connected person with God.

Well, I can only be part of God's nation if I am part of it, but I can't without Christ.

Immigration is an interesting word. Here is a simple definition of immigration.

"To enter and settle in a country or region to which one is not native"

In today's world, immigration is a hot topic. The just of what is important is summed up in the verse above. I am NO LONGER an alien in a foreign country.

In the spiritual case, "The Land of the Lost"

I was a foreigner in God's kingdom, but I am no longer a stranger in a strange land. I have all the rights and privileges of one of God's people and he accepts me as one of his own.

I am no longer separated from him but joined with him in a community of believers where the promises of God are given to me as I sit at God's feet.

I also have the responsibility as a "new citizen" in God's nation.

I mean new every day as I come before God and seek his will and his wisdom.

The responsibility is to show God's love and care to others and to honor him in all I do. I can not longer have the old ideas of the "Land of the Lost" I need to continue to embrace the privileges and responsibilities of God's nation.

It is a a huge responsibility to be part of God's nation but it is a place like no other place in the universe! I am fellow citizens with others who embrace the love of God and have accepted the gift of Jesus Christ.

Lord, today, I thank you for calling me to your nation. For embracing me with your love, care and concern. Thank you for Jesus who is the path to your nation and the example of the responsibility of what you desire me to do while walking on this side of heaven.

Thank you for putting me together to become a dwelling place in which God lives by his Spirit.

One of your citizens is thankful for your love today as the Adventure in Middle Grove starts a new week.
