It's Time!

A Time for Everything

1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:

2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,

3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,

4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,

5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,

6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,

7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak

Ecclesiastes 3

Time is is a fleeting thing...

Trying to catch a second that just passed is impossible. It is in your reach but it is long gone in to the history of the world.

There is a time where it seems to stand still.

The season are not something that wait. They just happen like clock work each year.

While traveling to work yesterday, I slowed over the Mohawk River and saw the first sign of another change of seasons. A flock of geese flew overhead with a symphony of sound and the gracefulness of motion as they passed over me.

Life is full of seasons, just like the writer of today's passages suggests. Each fall, the geese know when the season is in transition. They do not have to be told. They just do it. Summer falls quick in the Northeast and yesterday was an example of how I can will time to stop for more summer but time keeps moving. My desire for more is just a wisp of a summer breeze, fleeting in to the cool fall air.

The seasons of life can be fleeting too but the next one is right around the corner on the path on the Adventure in Middle Grove.
