Penalty Flag on Life

Work It Out Between You

15-17"If a fellow believer hurts you, go and tell him—work it out between the two of you. If he listens, you've made a friend. If he won't listen, take one or two others along so that the presence of witnesses will keep things honest, and try again. If he still won't listen, tell the church. If he won't listen to the church, you'll have to start over from scratch, confront him with the need for repentance, and offer again God's forgiving love.

18-20"Take this most seriously: A yes on earth is yes in heaven; a no on earth is no in heaven. What you say to one another is eternal. I mean this. When two of you get together on anything at all on earth and make a prayer of it, my Father in heaven goes into action...

I do not watch much football but I was not feeling so great yesterday and sat aound with the football game on as background noise.

There was a penalty, at one point, and the flag was on the ground for an infraction because someone did something wrong.

I got thinking about how good it would be if we had someone around when there were problems in life,

Someone runs out and throws the yellow flag and says" Why did you do that?"

Well we have this in Matthew 18,

Matthew 18 provides a forum just like the referees on the field in an NFL football game. After an infraction, the referee and the linesman confer to either agree or take another look at it so a proper decision is made.

This is why Matthew 19 tells us to bring someone with us so things are fair and equitable.

The flag is on the ground until an agree is made an the flag is picked up.

Lord, let me be a person of compassion and love in all the relationships I have with friends and family on the Adventure in Middle Grove.
