Neighbors

[Jesus replied,] "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: `Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these."

Mark 12:30-31

I think this is an uncomfortable verse for many Christians. Many people ask me,"Why do you want to open your house to people."

I think is is all contained in this verse. I do not think Jesus was "Love only those people you like and are Christians" No, It says

LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR.

Sometimes the most important things are not hard to understand. God wants us to love him with every fiber of our being and to also love those around us. All of his demands on character really boil down to honoring these two great principles that transcend law and bring the character of God to hearts.

Lord, I love you. I love you for your plan to send your Messiah for me. I love you for your unfailing love. I love you for your grace and mercy. Help me reach out and find the right people to move into "Saratoga Simple Living" as I look to take to action what you put in words. To love my neighbor on the Adventure in Middle Grove.
