The Last Standing

All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever.

1 Peter 1:24, New International Version

This seems very appropriate as I sit and look over the fields in the back of the house. The grass is starting to turn brown and the trees are losing the leaves of summer. In the Northeast we really understand this verse as the seasons change and move to the cold and dark of winter. God's word transcends the cold of winter and continues to warm our hearts even in the face of short days and long snow storms.

Lord, let my heart not wither as the leaves falling from the trees but lift me up to be closer to you on the Adventure in Middle Grove.
