Going Without

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Hebrews 11:6

I find it amazing about all the things people believe in. The recent fiasco out west called "balloon boy" is a great example of how desperate people are to seek reassurance.

But for the wrong reasons.

If you are not familiar with the story, here is a link.

This dad needed to have something to grab on to so he totally fabricated the story for his own good. His faith was in the notoriety and exposure he would get from the national news.

He did get it. Cable watching doubled the afternoon of his farce. He put his family, and himself in a realm of believing that he needed to create an event so people would know who he was.

He was placing his faith in himself and exploiting his family and the nation.

Our faith must be in the God of the universe, not in ourselves or any other being or event.

God does exist, today, on the Adventure in Middle Grove.
